Where will Shadow Mountain Bike Park be located?

The park is being proposed on a parcel of State Land Trust property in Conifer, Colorado. Roughly 2.2 miles southwest of Aspen Park. The property is zoned to be developed, and our team is proposing a low impact recreational concept that will provide stewardship of the land and protect it from more disruptive forms of development.

Why build Shadow Mountain Bike Park?

The low-impact concept will open more than 300 acres of forest to the public and deliver wide-ranging benefits to the community. Shadow Mountain Bike Park will alleviate pressure on Jefferson County’s community trail networks, and we’ll partner with Colorado Mountain Bike Association (COMBA) and other community advocates to provide a safe, responsible, and professionally managed place for users to enjoy the outdoors.

“A facility like this would offer an opportunity to enjoy mountain biking, and progress your skills, in a safer and more-controlled environment than is generally available on public trails. We see this as an important addition to the local inventory of mountain biking experiences.” – Gary Moore, Executive Director, COMBA.

What Shadow Mountain Bike Park is—and what it is not:

Shadow Mountain Bike Park would be a seasonal, day-use, mountain bike park that transforms the chairlift-access riding experience in Colorado. It will operate seasonally from roughly April through October, with an emphasis on being complementary to the property’s landscape and providing valuable stewardship of the land. There will be NO ancillary operations outside of mountain biking on site, and we are NOT proposing any residential, retail, or other types of development as part of the project. Shadow Mountain Bike Park would in NO WAY resemble a conventional Colorado ski resort.
